Induced Draft Fan (ID Fan) is an important equipment in boiler systems, mainly used to extract the flue gas generated by boiler combustion and ensure that the boiler maintains an appropriate negative pressure environment. It maintains smooth airflow in the combustion chamber by extracting exhaust gas from the boiler furnace and discharging it into the chimney or exhaust system, avoiding smoke backflow and ensuring the smooth progress of the combustion process.
The induced draft fan is usually installed at the tail of the boiler, connected to the exhaust pipe and environmental protection equipment (such as dust collectors, desulfurization and denitrification devices). Its working principle is to use the suction generated by the rotation of the impeller to extract the combustion exhaust gas from the furnace and discharge it through the flue. This design ensures a negative pressure state inside the furnace, helping fresh air to enter the furnace better, promoting full combustion of fuel, and improving the combustion efficiency of the boiler.

The main function of induced draft fan:

1. Maintain negative pressure: The induced draft fan maintains negative pressure in the furnace by discharging flue gas, preventing the backflow of flue gas after combustion, thereby ensuring combustion efficiency and safety.

2. Improve combustion efficiency: By timely removing flue gas, the induced draft fan avoids the interference of exhaust gas retention on the combustion process, ensuring full combustion of fuel and improving boiler efficiency.

3. Reduce pollutant emissions: The induced draft fan is combined with environmental protection equipment to help control the emission of harmful substances in the flue gas, in compliance with environmental regulations.

Conclusion

Induced draft fan is an indispensable equipment in boiler systems. It ensures the safe and efficient operation of boilers by discharging exhaust gas, maintaining negative pressure, and optimizing the combustion process. It is widely used in industries such as power, metallurgy, and chemical engineering.
