The constitute of an explosion-proof centrifugal fan is actually quite simple: it's a combination of "explosion-proof type + temperature group + explosion-proof rating," with BT4 being a common designation.
"B" represents the explosion-proof rating, a common rating for explosion-proof fans used in factories, capable of withstanding certain concentrations of flammable and explosive gases.

"T4" represents the temperature group, indicating that the fan's surface temperature will not exceed 135℃ during operation, suitable for scenarios where flammable and explosive gases have high ignition temperatures.

Besides BT4, there are higher-rated explosion-proof fans such as CT4, which can withstand even more dangerous explosive environments.

When selecting an explosion-proof fan, the appropriate rating must be matched to the explosion hazard level of the operating environment.
