Advantages of centrifugal fans:
 
High-pressure capability: Centrifugal fans can generate higher pressures and are suitable for scenarios where system resistance needs to be overcome or air is transported to longer distances.
Wide-range flow adjustment: The centrifugal fan can adjust the flow rate by changing the rotation speed of the impeller or adjusting the angle of the impeller outlet guide blade, and has a large flow adjustment range.
High efficiency: Centrifugal fans are generally more efficient under high pressure and can provide larger air volume output.
Strong anti-clogging ability: The impeller design of the centrifugal fan makes it have better anti-clogging ability against dust, particles and air with high humidity.
Disadvantages of centrifugal fans:
 
Larger size and weight: Centrifugal fans are generally larger and heavier than axial fans and require more space for installation.
Large current when starting: The centrifugal fan may require a large current peak when starting, which may bring some load pressure to the power system.
Higher noise levels: Due to the working principle of centrifugal fans and the high-speed rotating impeller, their noise levels are usually higher than axial fans.
Advantages of axial flow fans:
 
High air volume capability: Axial flow fans can provide a large amount of air volume at relatively low pressure and are suitable for scenarios that require large amounts of air flow, such as ventilation, heat dissipation, etc.
Smaller size and weight: Relative to centrifugal fans, axial flow fans are generally smaller and lighter, making them more suitable for applications where space is limited.
Small current when starting: The axial flow fan requires a small current when starting, and has a small impact on the load of the power system.
Disadvantages of axial flow fans:
 
Narrow flow adjustment range: Compared with centrifugal fans, axial flow fans have a narrower flow adjustment range and are not suitable for applications that require a wide range of flow adjustment.
Low pressure capability: Axial flow fans have lower pressure capabilities and are suitable for air transport with lower resistance or shorter distances.
You need to choose between centrifugal fans and axial flow fans based on specific application requirements and scenarios. If high pressure capability, wide range flow regulation and higher efficiency are required, centrifugal fans are a better choice. If high air volume, smaller size and weight, and lower starting current are required, an axial fan may be more suitable.
