The fan is an important component of the circulating fluidized bed boiler, and multiple fans work together to support combustion and induce smoke in the circulating boiler, respectively, with the following functions:

1. Supply air fan: The supply air fan (primary air fan) produces primary air, so the function of the circulating fluidized bed boiler fan is to send air from below the air distribution plate into the furnace, which is used to fluidize the material layer, control the bed temperature, and ensure the necessary air for the initial fluidization extinguishing. The primary air demand restrains the resistance of the extinguishing chamber and air distribution plate, and is supplied by a specially designed high-pressure head primary air fan.

2. Induced draft fan: The induced draft fan (secondary fan) produces secondary air, so the function of the circulating fluidized bed boiler fan is not to participate in the bottom fluidization of the bed material layer, and is used for combustion air to extinguish material particles in the dense phase zone and suspension section. The secondary air nozzle is usually arranged in two or three layers along the height direction of the furnace. The coal sowing air, limestone air, return air, cooling air for the bed quenching device, sealing air, and other air sent above the distribution air are also equivalent to a small share of secondary air to a certain extent.

3. Return fan: The return fan (Roots fan) is a device that sends the separated material from the gas-solid separator back to the furnace chamber and continues to participate in extinguishing. Therefore, the function of the fluidized bed boiler fan is to ensure the fluidized flow activity of unburned solid particles and to suppress the stable return of material at the furnace inlet height difference.
